Client Overview
Colette is a successful artist based in Farnham, Surrey. While her website bio is concise, it highlights a few accolades and her exhibition history. A recent gallery exhibition used a more detailed biography, which emphasised her artistic achievements and recognition within the art world.

The Challenge
Colette sought a way to reproduce the vibrancy and texture of her original artworks in limited edition prints. This required a precise process to ensure the intricate details and textures of her pieces were faithfully replicated.

The Solution
To achieve this, we employed our advanced camera scanning setup, chosen for its precise control over lighting. This setup allowed us to replicate the texture of Colette’s artworks without compromising the overall lighting balance.

The Process

  1. Camera Scanning with Controlled Lighting:
The artworks were scanned under carefully adjusted lighting conditions designed to emphasise texture.
  2. Exposure Balancing:
To mitigate the uneven lighting created by highlighting the texture, we first measured the exposure on a flat, white board. These readings were then used to calculate adjustments that re-balanced the exposure across the entire artwork.
  3. Final Adjustments:
The final scans showcased enhanced texture through increased highlights and shadows, while maintaining perfectly balanced lighting throughout the piece.

The Result
Colette was delighted with the results. She has since returned for multiple scans, both for her own collection and for Rosenstiels. Her work has been reproduced on a variety of premium media, including Hahnemühle Bamboo 290gsm and our Museum Canvas, each chosen to suit her distinctive style.
