Client Overview
Beretta is the oldest firearms manufacturer in the world and one of the longest continuously operating companies globally. This project was organised by GMK, a prominent UK shooting sports distributor, on behalf of Beretta.
The Challenge
Beretta required fine art prints of a pencil drawing of Villa Beretta, the company’s historic headquarters in Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, by artist Ben Hoskyn. The brief included producing a limited edition of 100 mounted prints, with an additional three artist proofs. These prints were intended as gifts for customers purchasing an anniversary product.
The Solution
We employed our camera scanning setup to capture the oversized artwork with precision. This allowed us to achieve a high-resolution scan while minimising the texture of the paper used.
The Process
- Scanning and Colour Matching:
The artwork was scanned with lighting adjusted to minimise paper texture. Careful colour correction ensured the tonal quality of both the pencil and paper matched the original artwork. - Proof Approval:
A printed proof with the required typeface and a 10mm white border was prepared and sent for customer approval. - Production and Mounting:
Once approved, the edition of 100 prints and 3 extras were printed, mounted in archival window mounts, and sent to the artist for numbering.
The Result
Beretta was extremely pleased with the final prints, which were distributed as exclusive gifts. The high-quality reproduction successfully reflected the artistry and heritage of the company.
